SPRING 2018 ORC: WEEK ONE

I'm incredibly excited and honored to be a featured blogger in the Spring 2018 One Room Challenge! Last fall, I participated as a guest in my first ORC and was selected by Sophie Dow, editor and chief of House Beautiful, to be a featured designer in the Spring ORC.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Natasha Habermann, Interior designer, stylist, blogger, and small space guru. Last year, my husband and I moved from our 350 sq/ft east village apartment to North Salem, NY, a rural suburb an hour outside of Manhattan. For this season's ORC, I'll be redoing our living room and connected foyer. The current state of these rooms is very lackluster. We moved into our home in August of 2017, and haven't done much to decorate either space.

BEFORE LIVING ROOM:

In the living room, we bought a couch, a rug, an inexpensive media unit from IKEA, and the vintage coffee table is from our East Village apartment. I'm most excited to say goodbye to the TV dinner tables posing as end tables and the bronze lamps which were never supposed to make it this long!

BEFORE FOYER:

The foyer has gone through a more dramatic transformation. We replaced the front door, added front door curtains for the winter months, sconces, and two rugs.

So what's staying?

LivinG Room: couch, TV, French basket, coffee table (TBD) Foyer: The runner

EVERYTHING ELSE MUST GO!

Next week I'll be walking you through my design plans. I'll be very active on my Instagram stories so tune in for lots of sneak peeks!

Thank you, Linda, for organizing and hosting this amazing event and to all the generous sponsors. Be sure to follow the 19 other featured designers (linked below) and the hundreds of talented guest participants as they document and transform their spaces!

Good luck everyone!
