And just like that, it's week two of the One Room Challenge! There's a ton to get done, but one item I can check off my list is the built-in bookcases.
If you didn't catch last week's post, these custom bookcases are painted Farrow & Ball's Hague Blue. When we lived in NYC, our bookcase was painted a similar shade, and I loved it. In my mind, dark blue acts as a neutral while still adding a pop of color.
The decision that I must make ASAP is the wallpaper. I'm leaning towards is this "netting" wallpaper. I like the graphic pattern, and I think it looks both traditional and modern.
I also love this House of Hackney Paper, but if I went with it, there is no way I'd be able to finish the challenge on time as it has a long lead time.
Tomorrow, I'm heading to the F&B showroom to see if any other papers catch my eye. If I don't decide by the end of this week, I give my self a 50% chance of finishing the ORC!
For the rest of the month, I'll be on the hunt for a desk, a chair, art, a rug, a mirror, and lots of lighting. The goal is to use primarily vintage pieces to add to the eclectic library feel.
Make sure to keep up with me on my Instagram stories as that's where you'll see everything come to life in real time! And as always, be sure to check out all of the amazingly brave participants of the Fall 2017 ORC.
