EICHLER BEDROOM REDO

While I was in San Francisco, I worked with my BFF and her husband to update their bedroom. This bedroom is in the incredible Eichler home that I blogged about last week.

To say their bedroom was in a sad state of affairs is an understatement. The walls were painted a morose shade of tan, their TV was precariously balancing on a rattan table, and all of their furniture seemed to be leaning on an angle. I didn't take pictures of the bedroom in this state, but I've provided an illustration below.

In my opinion, the bedroom is the most sacred room in a home. It should be an oasis for you to retire to when your day is done. If there is the slightest bit of chaos in your bedroom, I urge you to change it immediately. You wouldn't believe how intensely your wellbeing can be affected by a room in disarray.

The first plan of attack was to change the paint color to make the room feel light and bright. We picked three grayish-white samples before making a decision. I always suggest buying a few samples before committing to a color. It's better to spend $5 on a sample, rather than painting an entire room a color you hate.

We chose three Benjamin Moore colors, left to right: Babies Breath, Paper White, Pure White. We decided on Pure White.

Here is how the new color looks! So much better right?!?

The next steps will be updating the lighting, the dressers, the nightstands, and adding a rug, a plant and additional decor.

Here is the mood board for the bedroom:

I can't wait to show you how it turns out!

Looking to redo your space?

I'd love to work with you! Say hi!
