THE BEACH BUNGALOW REVEAL

8/12/2016

Drumroll please...It's finally time to share the beach bungalow project I've been working on for the past few months! If you haven't seen the before pictures, I urge you to check them out because this baby's come a longggg way.

I can't say what I love most about this project, but the headboard is on the top of the list.  We used this Designer's Guild Jardin Exo Chic fabric instead of a traditional headboard because the fuse box is located on the bed wall.

I'd seen this IKEA pendant used a million times and always loved it.  I knew it would be the perfect fit for the light above the dining table.

We updated the existing dining table by pairing it with these modern shell chairs and added a blue wool rug  to warm up the tile floor.

Of course, my favorite monstera leaves were used for styling!

The couch was so ugly, but replacing it was not a priority.  Instead, I covered the base with a Turkish towel and replaced the back pillows with lots of boho throw pillows.

The pink and white pillow is from T.J.Maxx and I updated it by adding tassels.  The fan pillows are from Anthropologie (discontinued) and the woven chevron pillows are from Pier 1 (discontinued).  The bamboo coffee table was found at a thrift shop.

This amazing painting is by my very talented mother, Grace B. Keogh.  I love the way it works in the space because it's tropical, and the abundance of pillows in the painting flow perfectly with the couch decor.

These white tables were end tables on either side of the couch.  We pushed them together to form a long unit to house plants and decor.  The vintage coat rack is now is used for towels, hats and beach bags.

My client had lots of driftwood so I wanted to incorporate it into the decor.  This great plant basket is from IKEA.  The art belonged to the client.

Blue, pink and white were the key colors for this project.  We found this duvet at IKEA. Unfortunately, I don't see it on the website anymore...I'm sure it sold out quickly as it was $9.99 for the cover and the pillow cases!

The white euro shams are from Anthroplogie (discontinued).   Tassels and fringe are something we used repeatedly throughout the project.  Repeating certain elements is a simple way to create cohesiveness in your decor.

These wall sconces are from Crate & Barrel (discontinued).   I love how the wood detail matches the dining chair legs, the pendant light, and the bamboo shades.

Since there isn't a ton of room on the side of the bed, we used this folding luggage rack as a nightstand. We also added this 70s style alarm clock by Infinity Instruments and placed it on top of a vintage bamboo tray.

Ahhhhh, the bathroom.  I die for this wallpaper.  However, it was a capital B to put up!  This wallpaper is thinner than traditional wallpaper and ripped very easily.  If you want to instal this wallpaper or another wallpaper from this seller, I advise hiring someone for the job!

The biggest problem I had with the wallpaper was getting a clean edge.  So with some inspiration from one of the most creative people out there, Megan Pflug, I finished the edges with a navy ribbon. It enhances the wallpaper and was a serendipitous byproduct of my struggle with the paper!

The watering can is IKEA and is one of my favorite products they have right now.  Buy it immediately, it ships!

This round mirror is from CB2.  I love how it works in the space.  It almost feels like you're looking out of a ship's porthole.

What is the most amazing part of this bathroom makeover... it cost under $400!

Is there anything better than an outdoor shower?  We added plants and a mirror and it made a huge difference in the space.

One side of the bungalow looks onto a tennis court while the other looks out onto the pool.

We spray painted the outdoor table white, replace the old cushions with new blue ones, and added this great outdoor clock from Infinity Instruments.

I hope you guys enjoyed this reveal! It was definitely one of the most fun projects I've worked on so far!  Please let me know if you have any questions!
